Overview
American Barn Co is seeking experienced, safety-focused independent contractors to transport, deliver, and set up portable buildings throughout Arizona. This opportunity is ideal for individuals or small businesses looking to grow with a well-established manufacturer while operating independently.
Contractors are responsible for providing their own truck, trailer, and necessary equipment to safely transport and install portable buildings. Qualified applicants must maintain all required licenses, insurance, and DOT compliance.
If you don’t currently own the required equipment, American Barn Co can connect qualified contractors with equipment suppliers and financing resources to help you get started.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport portable buildings to customer locations.
- Load and unload buildings using appropriate equipment.
- Level, block, and complete the final building setup.
- Perform basic adjustments to ensure doors and windows operate properly after installation.
- Follow all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), DOT, and state regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
- Secure all loads properly before transport.
- Complete delivery photos, documentation, and customer signatures using the company driver app.
- Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch regarding delivery status.
- Maintain equipment in safe operating condition.
- Represent American Barn Co in a professional manner while on customer property.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Clean driving record.
- Experience hauling oversized or specialized loads.
- Experience operating trailers, winches, jacks, and portable building moving equipment.
- Ability to read maps, delivery instructions, and site layouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL (required).
- Meet all applicable DOT requirements.
- Own or obtain a suitable truck, trailer, and delivery equipment.
- Ability to safely lift, climb, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable communication and punctuality.
- Smartphone capable of running the required driver application.
